The bathroom design theme for 2013 is luxury. The stark minimalism of the past few years has given way to soothing shades with splashes of bright accent colour; natural materials, textured finishes and mood lighting combine to create a relaxing spa experience. White remains a popular choice for sanitary ware and tiles but the stark minimalism of the past few years is now being offset by soothing pastel shades paired with strong accent colours such as purple, emerald green and ox-blood red or mosaic tiled feature walls and colour matched furniture to create luxurious and indulgent relaxation spaces.
Taps and brassware
Chrome is still the finish of choice for bathroom accessories and taps, for a modern cool appearance you may wish to consider a brushed nickel finish. Freestanding accessories make bathroom more convenient and elegant place. Wall mounted taps, concealed bath fillers and floor standing pillar taps are all proving popular as is technology and elegant design, with many taps now resembling small sculptures.
Bathroom lighting and gadgets
Lighting is a key element in the design of a luxury bathroom. Low voltage LED lights are safe for wet areas. Furthermore coloured LED systems can be remotely controlled to produce ambient mood lighting.

Water saving bathroom products
Water and energy saving have become important considerations for bathroom designers and architects. According to a recent BMA report, quoting government figures, suggest that the average house hold could reduce water usage by up to 50,000 litres per year simply by upgrading to a modern bathroom suite.
